Ukulele Jugband Motown?

Whenever I have one of these moments, I'm reminded of that Simpsons episode where Mo turns the bar into Moe's Family Feedbag restaurant. It's decorated like an Applebees or something (you know, with all the junk on the walls) and Marge says, "An Alligator wearing sunglasses? Now I've seen everything!"

Well Marge, you haven't seen Ukulele Dick and his Jugband doing Motown covers. Yup, you sure haven't.

Video: Highway to Hell (HOWTO!)

Well, my productivity might be in the dumps today (because I keep watching Rawuke videos) but it's good news for anyone who wants to learn how to play Highway to Hell like Rawuke does.  In this video he takes you step-by-step through each part and slows it down.  Although, I gotta tell ya, it still looks pretty tricky, but I'm going to work on this over the next few days and see what I can make happen.  Let me know if you attempt it as well.  I'd love to see a video!

So, when I first clicked on this video and saw the dude in the Harley Davidson shirt, leather jacket and motorcycle helmet, I had some reservations.  Then the rawk starts and this guy OWNS it.  Try closing your eyes and just listening, I would have guessed at least two or more ukulele players to make that sound.  He has so many tricks that I feel like I could watch this video for the next... um... forever and still not get it all.  The cute little Tiki Flea Soprano uke is the perfect counter-balance to the whole rocker get-up to.  Well done!

eBay: Mini Clip On Chromatic Tuner

I know, I know.  I just won't shut up about my new clip-on digital tuner.  (Review: Intelli IMT500 Clip-on Chromatic Digital Tuner for Strings)  It was a freaking steal at $13 but, of course, now I see one listed on eBay with a $.99 starting bid.  Way to go Universe... way to make me feel like a chump.  But, hay, instead of moping about it, I figured I'd tell you guys about this auction for a Mini Clip On Chromatic Tuner.

Although, I guess if I was smart then I only would have told one of you about it so you aren't all trying to outbid each other.  Doh!

Lanikai SM-T Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele

I've never seen a Lanikai SM-T Tenor Ukulele before.  In fact, I'll go one further and say that I've never seen a spalted mango ukulele before.  I love it!  But, what does it sound like?  Well, I did some searching on Youtube and found this video of a guy playing a Lanikai Spalted Mango Ukulele, but I couldn't verify the model.

This ebay auction for a Lanikai SM-T pretty much just got listed, so keep your eyes on it.
